The theme for the Gamplo 2026 Game Jam is "Unexpected".

Voting Categories

There's four voting criteria - Creativity, Enjoyment, Artwork, and Audio.

After the jam is over, I (FaceDev) will play the entries.

In the meantime, your game can be reviewed <ins>by the community</ins> via Gamplo.

While the main goal is creativity and fun, top entries will receive the following recognition:

  • The top 3 (three) games will be officially ranked on the platform, and receive the internal "featured" flag, showing up in Games & Featured and Recommended modals.
  • Earn in-platform currency (Blips) based on your ranking to spend on profile decorations:
    • 1st Place: 5000 Blips

<svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="50" height="50" viewBox="0 0 24 24" fill="none" stroke="currentColor" stroke-width="2" stroke-linecap="round" stroke-linejoin="round"><path d="m9 10 2 2 4-4"/><rect width="20" height="14" x="2" y="3" rx="2"/><path d="M12 17v4"/><path d="M8 21h8"/></svg>Compatibility
Your game must run on desktop (required), may support Mobile as well, must not require additional hardware/software to run, should preferably be optimized for lower-end hardware, and be built with "web export" in mind (e.g. don't use experimental, extremely advanced features in your game engine)

The game should be appropriate for most ages. Avoid heavy usage of excessive gore, completely avoid nudity, hateful language or visuals. Ensure compliance with the Gamplo Terms of Service

<svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="50" height="50" viewBox="0 0 24 24" fill="none" stroke="currentColor" stroke-width="2" stroke-linecap="round" stroke-linejoin="round"><path d="M12 22a1 1 0 0 1 0-20 10 9 0 0 1 10 9 5 5 0 0 1-5 5h-2.25a1.75 1.75 0 0 0-1.4 2.8l.3.4a1.75 1.75 0 0 1-1.4 2.8z"/><circle cx="13.5" cy="6.5" r=".5" fill="currentColor"/><circle cx="17.5" cy="10.5" r=".5" fill="currentColor"/><circle cx="6.5" cy="12.5" r=".5" fill="currentColor"/><circle cx="8.5" cy="7.5" r=".5" fill="currentColor"/></svg>Assets
You're welcome to use code you've already written and assets you legally own. Just remember that everything needs to be created during the jam timeframe, not beforehand. Also, be sure to list all outside assets in your game description.

<svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="50" height="50" viewBox="0 0 24 24" fill="none" stroke="currentColor" stroke-width="2" stroke-linecap="round" stroke-linejoin="round"><path d="M12 8V4H8"/><rect width="16" height="12" x="4" y="8" rx="2"/><path d="M2 14h2"/><path d="M20 14h2"/><path d="M15 13v2"/><path d="M9 13v2"/></svg>Generative AI
You must not use generative AI to make art or audio assets for your game or page. This is strictly against the Gamplo ToS and will result in your game being rejected, and therefore disqualified from the Jam. As suggested above, use Itch.io or Kenney's free game assets.

Gamplo is built with socialization in mind. We recommend you make use of our free platform features where fit, although completely optional - 💿 Auto Player Login (receiving the player's profile picture, name, display name & ID), 🏆 achievements, 💾 cloud saves and #️⃣ content moderation. Everything documented here; Gamplo integration will not account for any score increase, though, achievements are recommended for engagement.
