Unexpected Shopping Experience™ is a fast-paced game where you traverse a shopping center… or do you? What starts as a totally normal trip through a mall quickly spirals into something much worse. Escape rogue shopping carts with a personal vendetta, close mysterious viruses infecting reality itself, and every so often, enjoy the game in a crispy 120p, because apparently your graphics card just gave up.

If you’re lucky — really lucky — you might even be able to grab some food along the way. Will it help you? Will it do nothing? Will it trigger something awful? Who knows. That’s the fun part.

Throughout your run, you’ll experience 8+ special events that can happen at any time, completely changing how the game feels. One moment you’re confident, the next moment the rules have changed and you’re panicking. Survive long enough to unlock achievements, uncover secrets, and prove that you can handle the most unsafe shopping trip ever created.

No, this game is not Subway Surfers.
No, you are not running from a train.
This is Unexpected Shopping Experience™, and the mall is the threat.

This was my first-ever game jam submission, so I’m not going to hit you with a 14-paragraph developer sob story. You’re here to play, not to read. Let’s get into it.

Controls

It does not get simpler than this:

That’s it. No combos. No tricks. If you mess up, that’s on you.

Events

Things get weird. Very weird.

🕹 Arcade

One minute you’re in a shopping center…
Next minute you’re in an arcade.
Why?
Don’t worry about it. Just keep moving.
Honestly, at this point, it’s the least confusing thing happening.

🛒 Attacking Carts

Shopping carts suddenly gain free will and slide one tile at a time.
They are not friendly.
Stay at least 2 tiles away, or you will immediately regret your life choices.

🧠 Brainrot

Brainrots appear all over your screen.
They are annoying.
You click them away.
That’s it.
That’s the event.
It’s still stressful.

Everything is blurry.

🦠 Your Computer Has a Virus

This is literally just Brainrot, but reskinned.
Why?
Because I was lazy.
And honest.

⚡ Speedy Gonzalas

You move 1.5× faster.
Animations are sped up.
Your reaction time is tested.
Blink and it’s over — possibly with you losing.

❓ Secret Event

There is one secret event.
You won’t see it every run.
I’m not telling you what it is.
Find it.

No two runs feel the same, and the game does not care if you’re ready.

This game is currently only made for desktop. Working on a Mobile version.
